Psychologist profile

Lavrenty Stepko

You can know exactly what you want, yet remain stagnant for years. And the problem isn't you, but a paradox of the psyche that remains unseen. The fact is, the brain has the ability to simultaneously guide you toward your goal and protect you from it! Why? From childhood, we explore the world not as a dictionary, in which family = family, money = money... Behind each concept, the brain builds associative networks. Therefore, in its archive: • family = arguments between parents, infidelity, violence; • success = criticism, risk, responsibility; • money = danger, loss, struggle. And when you desire a better life, the brain is guided not by your logic, but by these archives. Therefore, a person can sincerely desire change—and simultaneously: • procrastinate • stop before taking the decisive step • revert to familiar patterns and again rationalize it with logical reasons After all, for us, thoughts like "I'll start on Monday," "when the kids go to school," "what if things get even worse at another job..." are logical justifications for stopping. For the psyche, this is a delicate defense against the archives we've accumulated since childhood about what we'd like to achieve. And to cope with anxiety and break free from deadlock, we must address the core of the problem, not the external manifestations. This is what will ensure effectiveness and speed in reaching a new level. If you're tired of living in conflict, anxiety, dependence on other people's opinions, and waiting for the right moment, which usually never comes, describe your situation to me in a request. I'll send you a plan for how we'll resolve it.
